FOR YOUR ROOF TENT TO KEEP FOR MANY YEARS, WE HAVE PROVIDED A LITTLE MORE INFORMATION ABOUT HOW YOU CAN TAKE CARE OF YOUR ROOF TENT.
MOISTURE AND RAIN
- Important information about the canvas and moisture.
Our tents can withstand rain and water, but like all other fabrics, it can start to mold if it is damp for a long time. Remember not to leave the tent damp when folding your roof tent for longer storage. Always try to keep the tent dry. If it rains during the night and there is a break during the day, pitch your tent while you stay for lunch, 30-40 minutes, much of the moisture has time to dry. Make sure the tent is quite dry before storing it closed for a long time. If you drive with the tent on the car, we recommend that you open the tent as often as you can when it is dry to ventilate. At the corners of the transport chapel, there are holes where moisture and water can penetrate even if the tent was dry when you folded it.
Fabric molds when it is damp for a long time.
Be therefore meticulous to ventilate your roof tent (if it is on the car) at least once a week, even if you folded it dry.
Condensation forms when the temperature drops overnight (if you do not use the tent).
Condensation can form in the tent, even though the tent was dry when you folded it.
Regular drying is recommended!
WATER PILLAR & SEWS
Our tents have a water column of 4000mm + 4000mm (5000mm + 5000mm on Diana).
This means heavy rain protection so you will stay dry!
All tent cloths from OutdoorDays are equipped with durable rip-stop technology with taped seams.
Our tents use YKK & SBS zippers.
As autumn approaches, it's time for winter storage of your roof tent.
It is important to keep in mind that the tent is stored dry and at an even temperature to avoid condensation which then leads to mold (storage is not recommended in the carport).
Before setting up your roof tent for the winter, be sure to remove the mattress and store it separately. You can also remove shoe bags, Rainfly and tent ropes.
Feel free to check your roof tent after 1-2 weeks to see if it feels good in the temperature you have chosen to store the tent in.
Before winter storage, it is important that you do NOT leave the tent on the car for a few days before you put the tent in for storage, ALWAYS make sure that the tent is completely dry. A few extra days on the car, can make the canvas damp and mold can occur.
